Real Brides: Danika
Our wedding day was the exact mash-up of Michigan outdoors scenery, and rustic barn yard party that we had been hoping for! Bennett and I were married on the hillside behind Dhaseleer Events Barn, surrounded by pine trees and our reception took place inside the barn. We were lucky enough to find an amazing blue grass band out of Chicago called Gussied who kept our guests toe-tapping all night long. On that perfectly sunny September day our guests played yard games, drank craft beer, feasted on pig-pickin' BBQ, and were wrapped up in all the love. Bennett and I could not have asked for a more perfect wedding day, and felt so blessed. We sent our guests home with homebrewed IPA we named "Oh Hoppy Day" and Michigan chocolate covered cherries.
Finding the dress: I have always been a tomboy who never really dreamt of a wedding day. It only took one day and two dress shops to decide on my dress. I put that lace gown on and immediately my sister said "that's it, we're done." My mom, sister, and I fell in love with the unique lace, the vintage feeling, and how it just made me glow.
