Real Brides: Lizzie

Kevin and I actually met on OKCupid! When we had signed up for the service, we weren't looking for "the one," and just wanted to meet some new people and make some friends. When we first got together, though, we both knew we had found someone special! When I was trying on dresses at Diane's Dream Brides in Livonia, MI (the third shop I visited), my first task was to select five dresses off the rack to try on. I had picked out five and was ready to head into the dressing room, when my mom pointed out a sixth dress. Diane told me to bring that one in too, and had me try them all on. My mom's pick, the dress from Moonlight Bridal, was saved for last. The sample I tried was in white, which I knew wasn't for me. Luckily Diane had a smaller sample in champagne and ivory, and she held it in front of me so I could get an idea of how that color would look. She put a veil on me, and seeing my mom, brother, and friend all tearing up, I knew it had to be a good one! But I still wasn't 100% sure. I talked to Diane about what I could do to customize the dress, including some pearl and crystal beading on the bodice, and a layer of pearlescent sequins in the skirt, and I took a leap of faith!
