Real Brides: Ashley
"You sort of look like a serial killer yourself.” It must have been the worst pickup line of all time, but these were the first words Mark ever said to me. You see, we met online and Mark was responding to my precautionary and rebuffing tagline that I was “only here to see how many of you all look like serial killers.” Little did I know, Mark was ready to wittily return serve and an early relationship blossomed as we chatted over the phone for a few weeks before going on our first date. After our first date concluded, we both knew we had found someone very special.
I spotted my dress the second I walked into Coni & Franc, a local bridal boutique here in Morgantown, WV. It was displayed on a store mannequin and the second I laid my eyes on it, I just knew I had to try it on. This was the first wedding dress I stepped foot into and I immediately fell in love with it. I felt like a bride and a princess all at once! I wanted to keep trying on dresses because I was afraid of finding my dress too soon and regretting not keeping my options open, but it seemed that I was always finding myself back into that original dress. The girls at Coni & Franc were so sweet and patient with me because they must’ve put me in this dress over a dozen times in between me trying on other dresses in the store. The sample dress was a size 12 and I am a size 2, so each time I was put into it, it was a group effort! I’m so thankful for the kindness and patience of Coni & Franc, because they knew as much as I did that I belonged in this Moonlight Couture dress!
