Real Brides: Matilda

I was lucky to marry the boy next door, just like the movies! It was magical! I met him 8 years ago when his family bought the house next to my family home. It didn't take long for our friendship to turn into more and we were together for 7.5 years before we got married in December 2020 in Sydney, Cronulla. 

As every girl does, they dream about their wedding day and the dress they will wear.  I was scrolling through Pinterest, pinning all my dream inspiration dresses for my future wedding day (I didn't have the ring yet) and I came across a photo of what happened to be my wedding dress and I was obsessed and saved every photo I could find of it on Pinterest. I continued to pin a lot of dresses but always found myself staring at the original photo of my wedding dress and would show people the photo when they asked  What sort of dress do you see yourself wearing?" When the time came for me to pick my wedding dress for the big day, I asked my big sister if she could help me track down the dress. Instantly, she came back to me and told me she found the dress at a store in Wahroonga called Fashionably Yours.  I booked an appointment to go in a month later. In the meantime, I made an appointment at another bridal store and tried on a variety of dresses there but none of them felt like " the one". I walked out empty-handed and waited for my appointment at Fashionably Yours. My appointment day at Fashionably Yours arrived. I took my bridesmaids and my mom with me. I tried on "the" dress and I instantly felt like a princess and started to cry. I knew this dress was the one from the moment I put it on and so did my bridal squad as I turned around from looking in the mirror to find my entire team in tears saying " This is the dress". It was everything I dreamed of!
