Real Brides: Aimy

I met my husband Todd through Tinder! A lot of people get surprised when we say that but it definitely worked for us! He proposed after 4 and a half years of dating while vacationing in my home country the Philippines. We were set to get married on March 21st, 2020 when the global pandemic hit and the whole world shut down and we were forced to postpone 4 days before the big day.  After 2 postponed wedding dates and 2 different venues later, I finally got to marry my best friend on April 24th, 2021! We were getting married that day no matter what! It was the best day of our lives!

I love everything fashion and so when it comes to finding my dream wedding dress, it was a very surreal moment for me. It's the most important dress I will ever wear! I know I wanted something whimsical with lots and lots of tulle,3D floral appliques, and a train. I made an appointment at Mon Amie Bridal Salon in Costa Mesa for another dress I found on Instagram and Mon Amie is the only shop in CA carrying that dress. I arrived with my mom and my sister at Mon Amie early and so we had some time to shop around and pick some other dresses that I'd like to try on. I grabbed 5 different dresses which all happened to be from the same designer and it was Moonlight Bridal. I didn't realize they were having a trunk show there that day. I first tried on the dress that I originally went there for and though I liked it, it just didn't feel right. I continued trying on more dresses and finally the moment I put on "the" wedding dress, I kept nodding and thinking to myself this is it! Then I started asking myself "Did I really just find my dress this quickly?" But it has everything I wanted! When you know, you know.  The tulle, the layers, the open back, the straps, the train, the 3d floral appliques. It was absolutely beautiful! I fell more and more in love with it after every fitting! I feel like fate brought me to that shop that day and though I went there for something else, I ended up finding "the dress" there! I also had the pleasure to meet Moonlight designer Stephanie that day and I got a beautiful drawing of my dress. I will always remember that moment!
