Matt was on work assignment in Las Vegas at the same company that I was working and we fell in love. The proposal was an unexpected at our trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for his birthday! We were planning daily activities such as camel riding and going to two famous beaches which we could only visit by boat. Since there was no boat docks, we had to jump in water. The location we wanted to go to was about a half mile from the beach we got dropped off at! It was a surprise for us and especially for me because I didn't know how to swim and I’m scared of water! The island was really small the left side was divorce beach and right side is love beach! On divorce beach which you can’t swim since the water is not calm and too dangerous to swim. The reason they call it "divorce beach" is because the water is so rough that the saying is "two people go into the water and one person comes out." The opposite, on the love beach, it is so calm and perfect to swim and the story is that two people go and three people leave! Because everyone was afraid to visit divorce beach, it was nice that almost no one else was there. We had the whole beach to ourselves. We sat on the rocks near the ocean on the beach and were enjoying the view when Matt surprised me by proposing. Luckily, even though the beach was completely unoccupied previously, some people walked in from Love beach and we decided to ask them to take photos while Matt repeated the proposal so that we could get proposal pictures! Matt lied to the people that he was about to propose so that we could make the proposal pictures look "authentic" and then we got gorgeous pictures of Matt proposing with the waves crashing behind us.
