Real Brides: Katlyn

Joseph and I met in college. We had our very first college class together Monday morning at 9 am. This was sleeping in for me…not so much him. We caught each other’s eye the first day but I soon learned he was the cockiest D1 basketball player on the planet. About the 2nd week of classes he asked me on a date and I laughed out loud and walked away. So harsh lol but he was persistent. We remained friends and a year later he asked me on a date again so we went on a date and I quickly realized he was still that annoying immature guy I meet a year ago. Fast forward to the middle of our junior year. We went for a casual beer at innovations (a staple at wcu) just the 2 of us….and if all clicked. That day I realized I could love this human. I was going through a lot of emotional stuff from home and school in general and he showed me a genuine side of him I had never seen. I’ve loved him endlessly even since. He likes to joke and say third times the charm.

I have pined many dresses on Pinterest over my 25 years of life lol. One the day I picked to go shopping I made appointments at 4 stores. My sorority big sister worked at a bridal boutique store during this time and convinced me to go there first. I figured I’d see what I do mad don’t like to know what to look for in the other shops but I never made it to the other shops. I tried this dress on third. Kind of like Joseph the third time was the charm. I know while I was being zipped up it was the one but the mirror, reaction of my friends and family and my tears solidified it.
