Real Brides: April

We met about 8 years ago when a friend wanted me to take a road trip with him and a buddy a few hours away so they could apply for jobs working as towboaters. The friend, my now husband, was 8 years younger than me and became pretty smitten but I thought he was too young and we just stayed friends. Fast forward a few years and we started talking more and more, and really got to know each other while he was on his month long hitches on the boat. We started dating officially in 2016, had a few breaks then decided it was all or nothing in 2019 and he proposed on 12/12/20 at a Christmas fireworks show!
My dress was the second dress I ever tried on. I tried on a few more but I kept going back to that one and asked to try it on again. We added a belt, then added a veil and sterling has me close my eyes and ask if I could picture my husband seeing me in that dress and to open my eyes. As soon as I opened my eyes I literally was breathless and was like yes, this is it! I said yes to the dress without even asking how much it was! After she started ringing everything up and measuring me I asked the price, but at that point I would’ve paid whatever the cost! My husband said that I could not have picked a better dress and his first words when I got up to the altar? “WOW, babe…”
