Real Brides: Denae
My husbands late father was a huge Red Sox fan. Growing up Blake always wanted to take his dad to a Red Sox game, but he never got the chance to. Sadly, his dad was very sick and passed away in 2015. In his honor, the year after he passed, I took Blake to his first Red Sox game at Fenway. Him and I started a tradition of going to a RS game every year. The first game we went to, we hid one of his dad's favorite rings high in the rafters of Fenway Park- so a piece of his Dad would be there. We decided each year we would come back to check and see if the ring was still there. We went back the next year and the ring was still there. The next year Blake's mom and sister wanted to join because of the tradition we had started of seeing if the ring was still there. During the game, Blake asked if we wanted to go see if the ring was still there. We all got up and headed to the location the ring was at. We were all expecting the ring to be there, but unfortunately it wasn’t. Luckily they brought another one of his dads rings to hide just in case. He put the new ring in the same location and walked over to me and proposed at the spot. It was so special and perfect. We got engaged in 2019, so we haven’t been able to go back to Fenway since our engagement because of Covid-19.
I absolutely LOVED my dress so much, and wish I could wear it again. It was so comfortable and it had POCKETS! The detail on the back of the dress was breathtaking, along with the buttons all the way down the gown. Before going to try on dresses, I was doing research online and actually came across this dress, saved the style in my phone and forgot about it! Then, a few weeks later I went to a local bridal boutique- Mirror Mirror in Baldwinsville NY. While trying on dresses, there was a dress that caught my eye but I wasn’t 100% sold in it. So the owner was like “I think I have a dress that you might like, let me go grab it.” I tried it on and instantly teared up. I felt comfortable and like myself in the dress. Needless to say, I said yes to the dress. At Mirror Mirror, they do this cool thing where if you are the first person to buy a dress, they name it after you. I was the first one to purchase it at their boutique, so they named it “The Denae Dress.” (picture attached.) When I got home, I remembered that I saved a dress style # I liked to my phone. I looked it up to see what that dress was and sure enough the dress I chose, was the one dress style I saved. I knew the dress was the one for me the minute I tried it on, then it was confirmed when it was named after me, and then re-confirmed when it was the only style dress I had saved in my phone. Sounds like it was meant to be for me! I styled it with a lace jacket as we were married February 12, 2021 in central New York. Thank you Moonlight Bridal for creating the dress of my dreams and making me feel like a princess on the most special day of my life.
