Gabriel Jimenez and I got married on December 4, 2021 in Los Angeles, CA. We met as freshmen in college at Georgetown University in Washington, DC back in 2011 studying for Calculus. After a first date to the Smithsonian museums and a Valentine’s Day dinner at at Clarke’s on M Street, Gabriel asked me to be his girlfriend. The rest is pretty much history but we’ve been able to grow alongside one another from studying abroad, graduating college, navigating adulthood and our careers to buying our first home together. We have a four year old mini golden doodle terrier mix named Maple. We were supposed to get married in Medellin, Colombia (where my family is from) in August 2019 but unfortunately COVID got in the way. We were finally able to celebrate our love and our union in LA (where Gabe is from) and we held our reception in our own backyard.
I’ve always dreamed of my wedding day and while looking for dresses I just thought all of them were so beautiful. It wasn’t until I tried on my dress from Moonlight Bridal at Ferndale’s Bridal in Orange County and I teared up thinking about my grandma in heaven that I knew it was the one. It was the perfect combination of classy, elegant, but also unique. The simple top with the low cut made it sexy and the bottom made it fun and flirtatious. It was perfect for me. Ferndale’s is owned by my now husband’s Godmother and Aunt Connie Linnert and her husband Tom Linnert. It felt extra special to have this special moment around family.
