Real Brides: MacKenzi

Justin & I met each other through social media and mutual friends. It all started on January 6th, 2018 with "How about that weather outside?", when conversing about the weather and the fireworks being held at Woods Valley Ski Area that night. Almost a week later we went on our first date at Mitsuba for some sushi and we really connected. After talking everyday we became boyfriend and girlfriend on January 20th, 2018. — Fast-forward to September 29th, 2018, Justin proposed to me at a small get together with my best friend Betty and his mom Lischa at a bonfire that we had going. The rest is history. Due to events going on at the beginning of 2020 we had to reschedule our wedding one year from our original date. It was a very tough decision for both of us but we thought it would be best for the safety and health of our guests. When it comes right down to it, a marriage is a commitment of two people, and a wedding is a party that can be rescheduled, so that is the route we decided to take. We finally had our dream wedding at The Cannery in Vernon, NY one year later!
So to start off, due to our wedding being postponed I had my dress for almost 2 years before our wedding so the wait to wear it was killing me and well worth it!! My mom, bridesmaids and I went to Mirror Mirror in Baldwinsville, NY back in 2019 and from the start I kind of knew the general style I was going for. The ladies there were so helpful, and had dresses picked out already for me! However, there was one I saw on a mannequin when I first walked in their main area as if it was meant to be. After trying on many fabulous dresses of my comfort zone and things I’d never normally try, I tried on the dress on the mannequin last and it’s majestic fairy vibes were meant to be. Then paired with the headpiece! *chef’s kiss*
