Real Brides: Jennifer
My husband and I went to the same high school, one grade apart, but didn't meet each other until a year out of high school, and the timing of that was truly meant to be. He proposed on our 8 year dating anniversary, and we planned a 2020 wedding. Of course the pandemic had other plans for 2020!
We waited as long as we could to postpone, and during that time I had an unusual experience of trying on dresses. After lots of research online, I fell completely in love with the Moonlight Bridal company and their dresses, specifically the energy of the Tango Collection, and was delighted when a local bridal store had the exact one I had my eye on. I picked up a handful of styles, curbside, to try on at home. Now my clipping techniques were far from perfect, but I could already envision it, just from being able to finally try the dress on in person. I worked with a wonderful bridal stylist via zoom and email to help me place a custom order, changing the sweetheart neckline to more of a v-neckline, and adding more sparkle to the bodice (because why not!?). This simple wedding dress had a silky form fitting ivory fabric layer topped with lace that hugged in all the right places, and a dreamy top layer of tulle that gave two silhouettes in one beautiful gown. Delicate lace appliques cascaded down from the bodice with sequins woven in, and my favorite, the sheer back panel that highlighted the soft, low tie-up detail. This dress was genuinely unlike any other. The following year marked 10 years together in October, and we got married that month with our intended 75 person wedding in the most beautiful garden/Victorian venue, The Perry House in Monterey, CA. It felt like a dream, the dress was purely ethereal and every other detail about our day was absolutely magical.
