Real Brides: Kara
I am from Alabama and at the time, was a traveling Emergency Department nurse. I had the intentions of taking a travel assignment with a friend in California. I went out to San Diego with my friend for a week to hang out. We were downtown one night and watched a group of (fun & attractive) guys sing NSync karaoke! Adrien was a groomsman in this Bachelor party. The groom was Adrien’s Best Man in our wedding! Long story short, we all hung out that night and Adrien and I stayed in touch. We lived the long distance love life for awhile, traveling to see each other, until I made the move to Kansas. The rest is history and we got married on April 16, 2022! We have two sweet pugs & can’t wait to see what this blessed life has in store for us! Cheers!
As my family and Matron & Maid of Honor live in Alabama and I live in Kansas, I planned and booked a trip home to go wedding dress shopping with them in Alabama. Prior to making the trip for my dress, I visited Dress Gallery in Wichita to start planning for the mix and match bridesmaids dresses that I wanted. One of my bridesmaids went with me. As we were leaving the store, this (my) Moonlight Bridal gown was hanging on a rack near the front door, but almost laying out where I could see the whole dress. I stopped and told my friend, “That’s exactly what I want. The beading, the sparkles, all of it.” I absolutely did not want to try it on, much less buy, it without my family seeing it and experiencing trying it on for the first time, but I really had this gut feeling that this was it. I took pictures of the dress, the tags, got the price (OMG SUCH A DEAL), and told the store associate I really wanted to keep an eye on this for about a week, when I return from my trip. So, I went to Alabama, tried on about 11 dresses and did not pull the plug on any of them. I couldn’t get this Moonlight gown out of my mind. I called Dress Gallery and it was still there. (YAY!) My Matron of Honor flew to Kansas and three of my other bridesmaids went with me to try on THIS dress and others at Dress Gallery. We didn’t tell them which one was IT, but it was pretty obvious when I got it on! That day I said, “YES!” to my dress & this is a story I’ll forever love! The feeling of “when you know, you know” is definitely a real thing.
