Real Brides: Kaitlyn

I met my husband, Derrick while working. I’m a nurse and was doing an ultrasound on my patient. At the time we shared small talk and I changed shifts and he wasn’t able to find me for 3 months. He asked a coworker about “the girl with purple hair” who turned out to be me and I texted him back and met for drinks. It was the easiest most relaxed date I could have asked for. Turns out we lived only a few streets down in the same town from each other. He’s always been the most patient and kind person. We both wanted something intimate and unique for our elopement and decided on Iceland for the beautiful landscape and mystery it holds. It lived up to every expectation. 

I knew the dress was “the one” because it was so unique. I knew I didn’t just want a white wedding dress and it was everything I could have asked for. It was the first and last dress I tried on and screamed “Me”. It was also perfect for our Islandic location.
