Real Brides: Monika

We met as most couples in the 21st century do, on a dating app, specifically, Plenty of Fish.  My husband had the perfect bait for me, a corny riddle. Even if I hadn't been interested in his profile, I was going to message him because I needed to know the answer. I don't remember the riddle or the answer, I think it was elevator. That goes to show you how corny this riddle had to have been. Regardless, I was now in his inbox and we started chatting. A week or two later we went on our first date.
My husband described how we first met as being surprised when I messaged him. She was the only one who tried to guess the answer to the riddle. The riddle was what goes up and down but never moves and the answer was stairs. After I received her message, I obviously checked her profile to make sure she wasn't a nefarious character. Her profile was fun and I thought she was very pretty so I messaged her back and the rest was history.
It took me a long time to find my dress.  I was looking for something I could feel sexy and glamorous in with a dramatic train, beautiful floral designs, sparkle, and sleeves.  I went to every bridal shop in Orlando and a few outside of Orlando too.  I tried lots of dresses and they were all beautiful, but I hadn’t found the one.  When I was nine months out from my wedding, I purchased a dress even though I hadn’t found the one because I thought if I waited any longer I wasn’t going to be able to get a dress on time for my wedding (at least that is what the shops and wedding blogs told me).  So I bought the dress I liked the most out of everything I tried even though I knew it wasn’t the one.  It was a beautiful ball gown that had a dramatic train and florals and sparkles but I just didn’t feel like the elegant and sexy bride that I wanted to be when I put it on and it didn’t have sleeves.  Sad face.  Fast forward to January and I’m perusing Pinterest for final wedding ideas and I see an ad for H1490.  I loved the dress on sight and even though I had a dress already I had to try her on, you know, just to see if I would love it just as much in person.  So I made the appointment with White Blossom Bridal to give her a whirl.  I immediately fell in love when I put her on, she was sexy, elegant, sparkly and she had sleeves, all the boxes were checked.  And would you know it, when I had her on the song we had chosen for our first dance played.  Our song is not a common one so to hear it while trying on the dress, I just knew it was a sign.  Problem was I couldn’t get my head around the fact that I already had a dress and I was not going to be able to return it so I found every excuse not to buy H1490 mostly that the sleeves weren’t quite right and the neckline wasn’t giving me enough drama.  So I left without a dress.  Well, a few weeks later the spring line drops for Moonlight Couture. How do I know this? Because I kept going to the website to swoon over H1490, this is when I saw H1508 and the light bulb went off in my head.  At White Blossom I was told Moonlight can do customs so when I saw the gorgeous deep neckline and romantic draped sleeves of H1508 I knew what I had to do.  I called White Blossom right up and asked if Moonlight could combine the dress from H1490 with the neckline and sleeves of H1508 and can it be delivered in time for my wedding.  When the answer was yes, that was it, I knew I had my perfect dress and I had no excuses this time!  Now, did we cut it close, absolutely but was it worth ohhh yea!  My dress came out more beautiful then I could have imagined and on my wedding day it was an absolute dream to wear.  I almost didn’t change into my reception dress because I loved wearing my wedding dress so much but I knew I wasn’t going to be able to waltz in it so I did change.  I could have worn my dress forever though and I will look for any reason to wear it again if only to feel as beautiful and magical as I did on my wedding day.
