Real Brides: Shannon
I met my wife on Bumble, we both swiped right! We dated long distance (her in San Diego and me in Long Beach) for about a year, then she made the move to Long Beach. We have been together for 5 years in November.
I never expected to wear an A-line dress like the one I chose with no beads or details on the fabric. I always imagined a tight, beaded, mermaid style dress to show off my figure. I tried on probably 15-20 tight dresses and had one that I thought was the one, I just wasn't super excited and couldn't make the final decision. I went back to the bridal shop to try on the dress one last time, and my mom suggested I try on this other dress because it had a slit and was something outside the box (not tight and beaded). When I put on the dress I immediately felt like a bride. I absolutely loved the slit, it gave a sex appeal while still feeling classic and elegant. The weaving of the bodice was modern and interesting and it fit almost perfectly in the bridal shop which felt like a sign! I didn't want to take it off, I just kept spinning and posing and taking pictures. The thing that really pushed me over the edge though was that my mom actually cried when I walked out wearing this dress. She said she knew I was going to get married in that dress. So it was definitely the one and I am so glad I chose it. It looked perfect next to my wife's tux and it was perfect for our venue as well. I was and am completely obsessed with it!! We plan to take pictures every year on our anniversary so I can wear it over and over again!
