Real Brides: Brianna
My husband Micah and I actually went to high school together, but we were always just friends! We stayed connected after graduation because we had similar interests, but still always just as friends. In 2020, he was home from college because of Covid, and I came home from living in California to visit my family for a month. He was driving past my house one night and decided to stop in to say hi since I was home from California. From there, we started hanging out almost every day for the next 2 weeks. At first, it was truly just as friends (since we had been friends for nearly 8 years at that point), but one day it was like a switch had flipped, and we both realized that we liked each other. We went on an official date, and the rest was history! He asked me to be his girlfriend the night before I went back to California, so we did cross-country long distance for over a year! He visited me 6 weeks later, and during that trip, we both knew we were going to get married, haha. I moved home to Pennsylvania in the fall of 2021; we were engaged by March of 2022 and got married in September of 2022!
When I went dress shopping, I had no idea what I wanted, so I tried on every style of dress! My dress was the last one I tried on during my first day of shopping, and I was surprised at how much I liked it! I didn't know it was "the one" right then, but my mom says she saw my whole demeanor change when I put it on. That dress was the only one I kept thinking about over the next few weeks. I made another appointment to try on my top few choices with more of my bridesmaids and friends along, but even going into that appointment, I think I knew that my dress was "the one". Trying it on the second time and seeing all my friends' and sisters' reactions was just a confirmation that it was supposed to be mine! I am still obsessed with my dress almost 2 years later!
