Real Brides: Casey

How Casey and Connor met:
Connors Version:
Casey and Connor met in Sept 2022 at harpoon brewery. It was to be their first date. Unfortunately Connor let his phone die. Bad Connor! So there he was sitting at harpoon. Waiting for his future wife. And there she was sitting in her car in the parking lot of harpoon. Waiting for Connor to text her back, thinking she was being stood up. Finally 20 minutes past the official start time of the date, Connors phone magically turned on. He called her and they met inside the brewery. Connor was immediately taken aback by Casey's beauty. She was a bit more reserved. A little uncertain about this guy that can’t manage to keep his phone alive.
Casey’s Version:
Casey and Connor met on July 8, 2021 at Harpoon Brewery in Boston (this is the correct date, don’t let Connors date fool you, we were already living together in Sept 2022). She was all ready to go on a date with a new guy she had been talking too. Before she left her apartment, she texted Connor saying “leaving be there in 30” to which he responded saying “me too”. Arriving at the brewery 5 mins before the date was supposed to begin, Casey texted Connor and said “here!” to which she received no response :( Not wanting to go into the brewery until a confirmation text had been received, she FaceTimed her friend April to discuss the anxiety about meeting someone new and why this new prospect hadn’t yet answered her text. Sitting in the parking lot on FaceTime, for a long time, thinking she was being stood up and this guy was nowhere to be found, she was about 5 minutes away from going home when Connor called her. She quickly hung up with April and answered the phone for Connor to tell her that he had been inside waiting for the past 20 minutes and that his phone had died but then it ‘magically turned back on’ just long enough for him to call me, before dying again. Maybe it was the last ditch effort of fate pushing two people who grew up on opposite coastlines together, or it was just the sad tale of a broken dying phone.
So here we are at the age old debate; if you were Casey sitting in the car, thinking you were being stood up, would you have gone into the brewery to see if Connor was there waiting because he confirmed a half hour prior that he would be there? Or would you sit in the car waiting for a text message back that may never come.

How Casey knew the dress was the one:
I was so excited to go dress shopping! As an avid Say Yes to the Dress watcher this was something I was most excited about during the wedding planning process. I had my Mom, Dad, brother, maid of honor, future sister in law, and one bridesmaid there. I went in with a few photos of what I was thinking (one of them being the dress I picked!) and knew I wanted something pretty simple but with a little sparkle or a fun train/back . I tried on a few that my friends and family had picked out, but they were not quite what I was looking for. Then my consultant brought in the dress that I had chosen, and I put it on and walked out towards the mirror. As soon as I saw myself in the mirror and they let the train flow around me I started to cry and knew it was the one! Later that day my brother told me that the moment I stepped out of the dressing room in that dress he knew it was the one, before I even saw it. I loved the clean plain front and the flowery lace in the back and on the train. It was perfect for our outside meadow wedding!
