Real Brides: Mallery
Love truly has a way of finding you when you least expect it. I met my husband at a concert. I was there to see one of my favorite bands, and he was the drummer for the opening band. We crossed paths later that night and had an instant connection. Our friendship quickly blossomed into something deeper. Seven years, three kids, and a house later, we decided it was time to make it official—although we had already felt married for quite some time. We love adventure and being outdoors, so we knew right away that an adventure elopement with just the two of us was what we wanted. We chose Iceland—a place we hadn’t been before, with a landscape different from Colorado, and somewhere unpredictable!
I knew picking a dress was going to be challenging for me. Not only did I have to love it, but it also had to travel well, be comfortable, supportive, and allow free movement for hiking. My eye kept gravitating toward more form-fitting dresses, but they didn’t pass the hiking test. After trying on dresses at two other bridal stores, I went to Casa Bianca Bridal Boutique. I knew this was the dress instantly after putting it on. I felt like I was in pajamas! It was so comfortable, and it was the only A-line dress I felt complemented my figure. I loved it! I loved how easily the fabric moved—it looked and felt effortless. And it definitely checked all my elopement requirements. Bonus—I was able to change the lining to taupe!
